In the quest to bring Vietnam’s agricultural treasures to the world, Nam An Grocer—founded in 2010 by Chairman Phan Văn Lượng—carved out a name as a trailblazer, shipping raw agro-forestry products to markets like India, China, and Europe. But Mr. Lượng dreamed bigger than trading raw goods. His vision was to transform Vietnam’s bountiful herbs into high-value pharmaceutical ingredients, unlocking the true potential of the nation’s fields and forests.
The year 2020 brought a curveball. As COVID-19 swept the globe, supply chains crumbled, and exporting agricultural products became a logistical nightmare. Nam An Grocer, like many, faced tough times, with Mr. Lượng scrambling to keep the business afloat. In the midst of this chaos, a silver lining emerged. At an online forum about herbal extraction in Vietnam, Mr. Lượng crossed paths with Mr. Trịnh Huy Công, a visionary leading the charge in bioactive compound research. Their virtual handshake sparked a shared dream: to turn Vietnam’s raw herbs into world-class medicinal ingredients. That moment planted the seeds for what would become Nanovex.
By 2021, Mr. Huy had launched Vietplantex, a company diving deep into the science of extracting potent compounds from Vietnam’s rich plant life. With a knack for innovation and a relentless drive, Vietplantex set the stage for breakthroughs in herbal medicine and nutraceuticals. Then, in 2023, the stars aligned. Nam An Grocer’s robust supply chain joined forces with Vietplantex’s cutting-edge extraction expertise, giving birth to Nanovex (Nam An Innovex). Despite stepping into a young domestic market, Nanovex charged forward, investing in top-tier technologies and cementing its role as a pioneer in Vietnam’s pharmaceutical ingredient industry.
Today, the Nanovex facility is a marvel, boasting:
